Jerry S. Farmer, 67, of Connersville, died Friday, January 11, 2019, at Reid Health in Richmond. Jerry was born in Batesville, March 19, 1951, to Paul and Mildred “Mickey” Slagle Farmer. He was raised in Arkansas and moved to Connersville with his family at the age of thirteen. In 1971, he was inducted in to the U.S. Air Force where he served two tours as a Fire Protection Supervisor. Jerry attained the rank of Staff Sergeant while stationed at Reese Air Force Base in Texas and Mildenhall, United Kingdom. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Connersville and had a passion for hunting arrowheads. Jerry had been employed as a truck driver and had worked at Leisure Trucking in Rushville for the past twelve years. Jerry is survived by his companion: Tresea Mengedoht, whom he had been with the past twenty years; his children: Jerry P. Farmer of Indianapolis, Stacey F. Farmer and her fiancé, Scott Doulen of Centerville; his granddaughter: Quinn Christine Doulen; his siblings and their spouse: Paula Allen and her companion, Rick of Brazil; Danny Farmer and Theresa of Connersville, Carlos Schoettmer of Greensburg, Mike Farmer of Brazil, Alesia Neuman and Dave of Greensburg; his former wife and mother of his children: Vickie Farmer of Connersville; nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death. A Memorial Celebration of Jerry’s life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the Veterans of Foreign Wars, 1033 N Eastern Avenue,Connersville following cremation.
