Jesse L. Gibbs, Jr.

Jesse L. Gibbs, Jr, 60, of Fayette County, died early Friday morning, May 10, 2013, at Reid Hospital, Richmond. Jesse was born in Connersville, March 13, 1953 to Jesse L., Sr. and Patricia M. Gray Gibbs and attended Fayette County schools. For over 21 years, he was employed at White Consolidated and its predecessors, Design and Manufacturing. Jesse enjoyed time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He liked gardening, antiquing and collecting coins. Jesse is survived by his wife, the former Ellen Bentley, whom he married December 12, 1985 in Jellico, Tennessee; his children and their spouses: Bruce Bentley and LuAnn of Shelbyville; Bobbie LaFollette and Stephen of Muncie; Jodie Bulmer and Zach of Belleville, Illinois; Billie Koger of Rushville; Jesse L. Gibbs, III and his fiancé, Brettney Gibson of Connersville; his grandchildren: Shelby, Nicole and Scott Bentley; Ashton, Liam and Peyton Bulmer; Aryn and Wyatt Koger; Parker Gibbs and a granddaughter expected soon; his siblings and their spouses: Martha Sue Gibbs; Darlene Thomas and Dexter; Larry W. Gibbs and Denise, all of Connersville; Sarah A. Brewer and Archie of Raleigh; Chester R. Gibbs and Jenni; Lewis John Hudson, all of Connersville; several nieces and nephews. Jesse’s parents and grandparents preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Tim Bentley, officiating. Interment will follow in Bentonville Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday where memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
