Juanita J. Dils, 89, died Saturday morning, August 6, 2016 at her residence.
A Union County native, Juanita was born January 31, 1927, the daughter of Virgil and Mary Ravencraft Batcher. She was a 1945 graduate of Kitchel High School and attended vocational college in Chicago. On August 11, 1946, Juanita married Harry H. Dils. Juanita was a member of Four Mile Church of the Brethren, the American Sewing Guild and Just Us Girls Club. She loved to sew, especially dress clothes and intricate quilts; she was an expert seamstress. Juanita will be remembered for her cheerful personality, her optimistic outlook and her benevolence to others. She will be especially remembered for the love she shared for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Juanita is survived by her husband of seventy (70) years, Harry H. Dils; her children: Philip W. Dils of Carmel; Jan W. Dils and his wife, Stacey of Richmond; Susan Dare of Liberty; her siblings: Virgil Batcher and his wife, Ruth of Naples, Florida; Raymond Batcher and his wife, Elaine of Inverness, Florida; her grandchildren: Justin Dare & Jessica Warnock; Brian Dils of New York City, NY, Amanda Dils of Fishers, IN, Alex Dils of San Francisco, CA; Matt Dils, Tara Harris, Ella Dils; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Juanita is preceded in death by her sister: Carolyn Morgason; her son-in-law: Terry Dare; her grandson: Chris Earlywine.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty with Reverend Merle Rummel of Four Mile Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in Elkhorn Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to Four Mile Church of the Brethren.
