Judith E. Isaacs, 73, of Connersville, died Friday morning, August 12, 2011, after a brief illness.
Judith was born in Terre Haute, August 3, 1938, to Edward and Wilma R. Jones Cole. She was a 1956 graduate of Alfordsville High School in Daviess County. On January 12, 1957, she was married in Richmond to Vernon Isaacs. Judith was employed at Village Pantry for 23 years, serving as the manager for 17 years. She had also been employed at Ford Electronics and Refrigeration for 10 years. Judith was a devoted member of Connersville Baptist Temple and most enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially during vacations and celebrations. For many years, she and Vernon attended NASCAR races at Daytona and Talladega.
Judith is survived by her husband of over 54 years; three children and their spouses: Jeff Isaacs and Janet of Littleton, Colorado, Lu Ann Nester and George, Lori McFarland and Tim, all of Connersville; six grandchildren and their spouses: Jennifer Isaacs, Nicci Kochsmeier and Kent, Sean Isaacs, Kara DeBoard and Clayton, Ashley Cerqua and Gary, Morgan McFarland; two great-grandchildren: Carter and Kolton DeBoard, with another on the way.
Judith was preceded in death by her parents and a special uncle, Stephen Cole, who helped raise her.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Tim Billups and Rev. George Nester, officiating. Interment will follow in Village Creek Cemetery.
