Karen Dianne Oler

Dianne Oler, 62, of Liberty, died Friday, August 25, 2017, at her residence. Dianne was born in Sharonville, Ohio, on December 11, 1954, to Francis Paul and Vivian Revis Raffel. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Indiana University and her Master’s Degree in reading from Miami University. Dianne married Bill Oler on August 16, 1975, in Carmel, Indiana, and together they have enjoyed forty-two years of marriage. Dianne was an English teacher in middle school and the high school of Union County Schools for thirty-two years. Dianne loved reading and listening to music. The greatest love of her life was the time she spent with her four grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Dianne is survived by a son: Wes Oler and his wife, Krista of Liberty; four grandchildren: Macey Lynn, Liam B; Bryson Jeffrey, and Maximus Paul; a sister: Lori Ann Raffel of Indianapolis; and many students she taught over the years. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Barbara Cann. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, in Liberty where memorial contributions may be made to Union County Cancer Society ~ 43 West Union Street ~ Liberty, IN 47353.
