Keith John Carlton, 58, died on June 10, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Keith was born on December 18, 1962 in Connersville, Indiana the only child of Arnold Keith and Georgia Matney Carlton. He attended Saint Gabriel Catholic School and graduated from Connersville Senior High School with the class of 1981. Keith studied chemical engineering at Tri-State University for three years and mathematics along with history at Ball State University for two years. He particularly enjoyed world history. He liked cooking, fishing bee keeping and especially enjoyed NASCAR. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, often providing life advice to his visitors. He was also known to engage in discussions about politics. He will be greatly missed by his friends, family and all that knew him. Keith is survived by his mother and stepfather Georgia Matney-Lucas and Fred Lucas of Connersville; a stepsister Lana Sweney of Shelby Township, Michigan, many aunts, uncles and special cousins: Kent Clark, Bob Napier, Zach Napier and other extended family members. Keith is preceded in death by his father: Arnold Keith Carlton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Gabriel Catholic Church at Noon on Wednesday June 16, 2021 with Father Dustin Boehm officiating. A Rosary service will be held at the church on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to the Beacon of Hope Fund at the church or a Mass of Remembrance in his honor.
