Local business owner, Keith D. Geis, 58, of Connersville died Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital. A Connersville native, Keith was born October 10, 1959 to Robert W. and Joella Ayers Geis and was a 1978 graduate of Connersville High School. He owned and operated their family business, Triangle Heating and Cooling. Keith was a dedicated member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, Connersville Catholic Men, the Knights of Columbus and Sons of AMVETS. He was a past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council #861. He had also served as the Post Commander and State Commander for the Sons of the AMVETS. Keith was a huge supporter of our local community; donating his time to various charitable organizations and several benefits for families in need. He shared his love of music by playing in several local bands over the last forty-six years. Keith was a passionate and gifted drummer who celebrated life one song at a time. His music touched the lives of people of all ages. Keith is survived by his wife, Debra K. Cummins Geis, who he married August 6, 1982; his children and their spouses: Jennifer Geis Steele and Dusty of Connersville ,Gabriel Geis of Connersville; Jason Smith and Mandy of Brookville; his mother: Joella Geis of Connersville; his siblings and their spouses: Thomas Geis and Mary of Connersville; Luanne Williams and Dr. Alan of Blaine, Washington; his eight grandchildren: Dominic, Marissa, W. Luke & Elisha Steele; Cameron, Jake, Stevie and Elliot Smith; great-granddaughter: Aria Steele; father-in-law: James D. Cummins; brothers-in-law and their spouses: Ron Cummins and Janeil of Connersville; Larry Cummins and Kathy of Richmond; sister-in-law and spouse: Cathy Steinard and Donald of Everton; nieces and their spouses: Allison Williams Seidner and David; Lindsay Williams Hovind and Steven; nephew and his spouse: Greg Williams and Carrie; step-nephews: David Carlton and Shaun Hulette; several great nieces and nephews. Keith is preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Geis; mother-in-law: Betty Brewer Cummins and his nephew: Christopher Geis. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Rev. Dustin Boehm of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church, officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to Tatman’s Christmas for Children.
