Larry W. Stephenson, 80 of Liberty, died Saturday, October 7, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family. Larry was born to William C. and Laura Stephenson on December 12, 1942, in Wardell, Missouri. He attended school in Union City, Tennessee and later furthered his education with college courses. Larry married the former Charlene Williamson on December 8, 1982, in front of the fireplace in their home. He was the district manager of Cardinal Communications for many years prior to starting his own business. Alongside his wife, Larry opened CableCare Electronic and together they operated for over twenty-seven years. He was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Georgia. Larry was an avid deer hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed camping, boating, and traveling in his motorhome with Charlene by his side. In addition, Larry enjoyed tending to his property and utilizing his tractors and farm equipment. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, family, and friends. Larry is survived by his loving wife of forty-years, Charlene; children: Colette Walton and her husband Troy, Cindy Quertermoss, Sheila Lynne Bonds and her husband Randy, Donna Jean Bruns; grandchildren: Michael Leas, Kyle Walton, Kristin Rogers, Chelsea Lightsey, Casey Bruns, Jennifer Henson, Justin Chappell, Hunter Bonds, Austin Burnett, and Megan Bonds; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to mention. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his daughter: Ronda Renee Leas; grandsons: Tyler Leas, Dustin Burnett, and Ryan Burnett; three sisters. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00p.m, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Showalter Blackwell Long, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty with Barry Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at West Point Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12:00p.m., until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Cancer Society in Larry’s honor.
