Leola Rensink

Leola Ledford Rensink, 93, of the Connersville community, died Tuesday morning, September 12, 2017, at her residence. Leola was born in Newport, Kentucky on March 16, 1924 to John and Viola Wilson Bickers and attended school there. Prior to moving to Connersville, she had been employed in the ship yards in Alameda, California during WW II. She enjoyed reading daily from her large print Bible’ Leola liked to cook, enjoyed gardening and had a green thumb with her house plants. The devoted and unselfish care of her son, David allowed Leola to remain in her home in her latter years. Leola is survived by her children and their spouse: Barbara J. Anthony and James of Sun City Center, Florida; Sandra L. Wilson and Brad of Carlisle, Linda S. Herron and Don of Connersville, Teresa L. Ledford of Greenfield, Cindy A. Glendon and William of Dalton, Massachusetts; Debra J. Cummins and Ray of Richmond, John N. Ledford and Robin of Edwardsville, Illinois; Vicki L McCarty of Connersville, David W. Ledford of Connersville; her sister: Pat Chambers of Newport, Kentucky; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Leola was preceded in death by her first husband, Jessie William Ledford who died in 1967; her second husband, Victor E. Rensink who died in 1994; her grandson, Brian Anthony; two brothers and five sisters. Private graveside services will be conducted at Dale Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
