Linda L. Jones Robbins, 62, of Connersville, died Thursday, February 16, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana, Columbus.
Linda was a native of Richmond, born April 11, 1949, to Dallas Wesley “Bud” and Kathryn “Jean” Lee Jones. She attended Richmond Senior High School and graduated from the certified nursing assistant program at Ivy Tech. Linda had been employed as a CNA and worked as a veterinarian technician at Miracle Mile Veterinary Clinic, Fort Myers, Florida. Linda was a member of the Western Avenue Baptist Church and most recently was a member of the Everton Southern Baptist Church. Linda touched many hearts with her ever present smile and many activities in the community. She and her husband, Richard helped originate the Fayette County Widowed Persons Services where they served as coordinators. Linda was dedicated to the Fayette County Senior Center Thrift Shop. She loved caring for animals and had served as secretary for the Fayette County Humane Society.
Linda is survived by her husband, Richard L. Robbins, whom she married July 16, 1999; her daughter and son-in-law: Angel Ann and Richard Rouse of Greensburg; her son and his wife: Dallas Richard Snyder and Farahda of Cambridge City; her mother: Kathryn “Jean” Jones of Richmond; her sister and brother-in-law: Cheryl Ann and Jeff Hunter of Richmond; a niece: Katie Firth Williams and her husband, Mike of Richmond; nine grandchildren: Ryan, Bethanie, Shelby, Tyler, Damon, Natalie, Naomi, Nathan and Nash; two great-grandchildren: Arianna and Ashlynn; two step-daughters: Tina Larrison and her husband, Paul of Ingalls; Angie Roberts and her husband, Todd of Florence, Kentucky; a step-son: Michael Robbins and his wife, Stephanie of Shelbyville; six step-grandchildren; and a special friend: Mary Gabbard of Connersville.
Linda was preceded in death by her father; her former husband, Arthur W. Hastings; her brother: Dallas Wayne Jones, Jr.; her grandmother: Clara M. Smith; two step-granddaughters, and a special friend: Helen M. Beaty.
Friends are asked to wear purple, Linda’s favorite color, to her funeral service at 6 p.m. Monday at Everton Southern Baptist Church with Rev. Freddie Helton, officiating. Friends may visit from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the church where memorial contributions may be made to the Fayette County Widowed Persons Services or to the Fayette County Humane Society.
