Lois Jean Morris

Lois Jean Morris, 95, of Connersville, died at her residence, Monday, January 22, 2018. Jeanie was born September 11, 1922 in Connersville, one of three children to Doris and Nora Mason Morris. She graduated from Stoney Creek High near Farmland in 1940. On September 4, 1942 Jeanie was married to Paul Morris. They celebrated seventy-four years of marriage. She was a member of Connersville Senior Center and New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church near Lyonsville. Before retiring, Jeanie was the office manager of her husband’s excavating business and had been at one time employed by E.W. Brockman Co. and Montgomery Ward Office. Jeanie is survived by her nephew: Phillip Morris of Muncie; two great nephews: Dale and Jeff; her sister-in-law: Edna Campbell of Connersville; her brother-in-law: Dale Morris of Gosport; several nieces and nephews, who aided her with loving care since August; her close friends: Leo Sweeney of Connersville; Dora Thornburg of Muncie; Marjorie “Marj” Perkins of Connersville. In addition to her parents, Jeanie is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Morris; her brothers: Gayle and Francis Wayne Morris; her step-mother: Alice Morris. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January, 26, 2018 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Elder Phil Nigh officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to the New Bethel Primitive Church.
