Lorene Isaacs, 69, of Connersville, died early Wednesday morning, February 6, 2019, at Reid Health in Richmond.
Lorene was the daughter of Clarence and Nannie Clark Russell, born July 12, 1949, in Berea, Kentucky and attended school there. On July 16, 1965, she was married to James Elmer Isaacs. They moved from Sands Springs, Kentucky to Connersville in 1966. Lorene had been employed at Whitewater State Park, Liberty Mills and Liberty Tree Campground all in the Liberty area. Most recently, she had worked at Advantage Home Health in Connersville. Lorene cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and enjoyed collecting angels. She also enjoyed attending area churches as a part of her Pentecostal faith.
Lorene is survived by her children: Wilda “Kay” Paul, Darryl Wayne Isaacs, Wanda Sue Jenkins and her husband, Dan, all of Connersville; James E. Isaacs, Jr. of Liberty; her grandchildren and their spouses: Joseph Paul and Autumn of West Harrison, Kerry Myers and Tony of Rushville, Brandon Reece of Brookville, Taylor Moore of Connersville, Amber Miller and Garrick of Liberty, Makayla Moore, Alexander Isaacs, both of Connersville; Jere Isaacs of Liberty; eleven great-grandchildren with another due in May.
In addition to her parents, Lorene was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 45 years who died July 8, 2010; her sister: Phyllis Russell; and her son-in-law: DeRon Paul.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2019, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Lenny Jones of the Free Pentecostal Holiness Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
