Lucille M. Walters, 82, of Connersville, died Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Hickory Creek at Connersville.
Lucille was a native of Gary, born October 29, 1934 to Arnold and Anna Marek Clark. On September 6. 1951, she was married to James L. Walters who died October 29, 2000. She was a member of the Park Road Christian Center and enjoyed her time spent with her children and grandchildren. For over 18 years, Lucille was employed at Miller’s Cafeteria, retiring in 1992. She had also worked as the dispatcher for Walter's Taxi. Lucille was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed working puzzles, crocheting and playing bingo.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lucille is preceded in death by two brothers: John and Arnold Clark, Jr.; a sister: Barbara Rock and her grandson: Ezra J. Walters.
Lucille is survived by her children: Rick Walters and his wife, Debbie of West College Corner; John “Walt” Walters and his wife, Micki; Larry “Moe” Walters, all of Connersville; Deborah L. Waltersof Rushville; Leona K. Walters of Connersville; her siblings: Joseph Clark of Columbia, Missouri; Arthur Clark of Cedar Lake; Anita Mechei of Kentucky, Christine Pavlik of Evansville; thirteen grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 9, 2016, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel. Interment will follow in Columbia Cemetery.
