Lucy E. Noe, 93, of Connersville died early Friday morning, August 10, 2012 at her residence.
Lucy was born December 20, 1918, in Fayette County to Charles Clifford and Rosella Martin Roberts. In 1935, she graduated from Everton High School and had lived in the area all of her life. On December 31, 1935, Lucy married Ralph S. Noe in Connersville and they resided in the Orange community for 11 years. Lucy contracted polio in 1949 at the age of 29 but refused to allow her life activities to be restricted as a result. She was an active member of the Harrisburg Union Church and was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Lucy was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed reading and had served as a Girl Scout Leader.
Lucy is survived by her son: Ralph Ronald and his wife Hideko “Susie” Noe of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; her daughter: Nancy Smith and her husband, Tom of Connersville; her grandchildren: Veronica Hicks and Bill, Debbie Parks and Tom, Brenda Oschlager and Mike, Amy Scott and Rodney Siler, Danny Noe and Kathy; her great-grandchildren: Matthew, Michael and Patrick Olschlager; Veronica, Lauren, Tom, Evan Parks; Amanda Scott, Victoria and Alex Hicks, Ben Noe; brother: Charles Roberts and Julia of Ft. Myers, Florida; sister: Charlene Neal of Connersville; sister-in-law: Lois Roberts; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend: Brian Edgecomb of Connersville.
In addition to her parents, Lucy is preceded in death by her husband who died May 21, 2008; and brother: John Martin Roberts.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Dr. John Stewart officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday where memorial contributions can be made to the Bentonville Volunteer Fire Department.
