Margaret Mary Bulach Kunkel, widow of Paul Kunkel of Liberty passed away Friday, April 7, 2017, at Brookdale Senior Living facility in Richmond.
She was born to Joseph and Mary Kappes Bulach on December 15, 1928, near St. Leon, Indiana in Dearborn County.
Margaret and Paul were married on May 26th, 1951, and raised four daughters: Nancy Jackson of Brownsville, Karen Kuhn and husband, Gregg of Shelbyville, Christyna Barker of Richmond, and LeeAnn Newton and husband Greg of Murfreesboro, TN. She is also survived by four sisters: Ruth Gaynor of Dover, Joan Hoffmeir of New Alsace, Betty Ripberger of St. Peter’s, and Ellen Bulach of St. Leon; twelve grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years who died on March 4, 2015; one brother: Clifford Bulach; one sister: Wilma Jansing; and four brothers-in- law.
Margaret, commonly known as Marge or Margie, was an avid homemaker who loved gardening, playing cards, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed feeding and watching birds, crocheting, and various crafts. Margaret was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church for sixty-five years.
Friends may visit at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel in Liberty on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, from 9:00 until 11:30 a.m. with the Rosary being said at 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Liberty with Father Dustin Boehm officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends in attendance are invited to a luncheon at St. Anthony’s Center following the interment
