Marguerite G. Thurman, 84, of Connersville died Friday afternoon, June 19, 2015 at Lincoln Centers East.
A Connersville native, Marguerite was born February 7, 1931 to Roy L. and Minnie Leftridge Williams and later attended Connersville High School. On May 27, 1951, Marguerite was married to Elder Charles A. Thurman. She had been employed at Ford Electronics, Stant Manufacturing and had owned and operated Little Sunshine Daycare, Inc. Marguerite was a member of the Phillipi Early Church of God in Christ.
Marguerite is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Elder Charles A. Thurman; her children: Gloria L. Thurman; Andrea A. Thurman-Scott; Cory L. Thurman and his wife, Sierra; all of Connersville; her grandchildren: Douglas C. Turner of Little Rock, Arkansas; Daveon Thurman; Israel Thurman; Myles Thurman, all of Connersville; her siblings: Irvin F. Williams and his wife, Harriette, Nancy L. Williams, all of Los Angeles, California; Vincent M. Williams, Beverly Hutchinson, both of Indianapolis; David G. Williams, Julia E. Williams, both of Connersville; Leah J. Morris of Sardis, Mississippi; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marguerite is preceded in death by her mother who raised her, Orena Williams; her brothers: Sherman and Nolan Williams; her sisters: Cynthia J. Williams; Shirley J. Foster; Luana K. Harper.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Elder Richard Jackson of Phillipi Early Church of God in Christ and Pastor Joyce Raglin of Samaria Early Church of God in Christ, Addyston, Ohio officiating. Friends may visit at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Phillipi Early Church of God in Christ.
