Marilyn Ann Jones Stanley, 73, of Liberty, died Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Reid Hospital, Richmond.
Marilyn was born in Madison County on November 8, 1938 to Dee Clinton and Margaret Auth Jones and was a graduate of Richmond High School. On May 5, 1957, she was married in Richmond to Robert L. Stanley who died May 27, 2001. Marilyn was employed as the secretary at Midtown Pharmacy in Richmond for twenty years. She enjoyed knitting and quilting. In her leisure time she liked to work in her yard, work puzzle books and play free cell.
Marilyn is survived by three children and their spouses: Lynn A. Browning and Terry of Liberty, Robert L. Stanley and Teresa of Miamisburg, Ohio; Terry D. Stanley and Dana of Angola; her brother: John Schuler and his wife, Rosie of Homosassa, Florida; two sisters: Judy Simandl and Lisa Mathews and her husband, Bill, both of Florida; a brother-in-law: Charles R. Stanley and his wife, Bonnie of Greenfield; 8 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband of 44 years, she was preceded in death her step-Mother: Louise Ann Jones Mendius; and a grandson: Bradley Browning .
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, with Rev. Mick Miller of the College Corner United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Wayne County. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday where memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
