Marilyn M. Lynch, 73, of the Columbia community died Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at University Hospital, Indianapolis.
Marilyn was born June 16, 1938 in Andersonville to Frederick Joseph and Jane Carpenter Drew. At the age of two, her family moved to Columbia where she attended elementary school and was a graduate of Connersville High School. On March 2, 1956, she was married to Elmo Lynch at Calvary Baptist Church where she is a member.
Marilyn was employed for 30 years as an inspector for Visteon and its predecessors and had also worked for nine years as a clerk at J.C. Penney. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her boys race. In her leisure time she liked to fish, cook and sew.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Elmo; three children and their spouses: Deborah J. and Danny Evans of Everton, David B. and Mary Lynch of Milan, and Bradley K. Lynch of the Columbia community; two grandchildren: Josh and Kaitlin Dickey of Milan; two sisters: Opal Gardiner of Elgin, IL and Luverda Wood of Connersville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers: Bill, Tom, Carlton and Ed Drew.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Saturday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with her nephew, Rev. David Humphrey, officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel North Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm Friday where memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
