Marjorie “Midge” Metz, 65, of Connersville, died Sunday morning, June 16, 2013, at her residence.
Midge was born in Cambridge, Ohio, August 5, 1947, to Frederick and Helen Rittenhouse Schultze. In 1969, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from the University of Evansville and was employed as a social worker at Muscatatuck State Hospital for ten years. From 1986 to 1997, Midge worked for East Central Special Services in Connersville. She was also a great help to her husband with his dental practice in Connersville. Midge enjoyed spending summers at their cottage in Northern Ontario and traveling, especially on Alaskan cruises and to Las Vegas.
Midge is survived by her husband: Vaughn P. Metz; her children: Kristan Metz of Cincinnati, Ohio; Derek E. Metz and his wife, Kimberly of New York, New York; her brother: Robert Schultze and his wife, Brenda of Mt.Vernon, Ohio; her cousin: Lee Crawford and Beth of Fryeburg, Maine; four nieces, one nephew and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, Midge was preceded in death by her mother-in-law: Lois Metz; and her sister-in-law: Linda Metz.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Cremation will follow.
