Mary E. Durbin

Mary E. Durbin, 82, recently of Liberty, died Saturday evening, August 11, 2012, at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital, Oxford, Ohio. A native of Hamilton, Ohio, Mary was born December 22, 1929 to Leonard and Mary Houze Durbin. She had been a member of the Hamilton Christian Center, Hamilton, Ohio and was most recently a member of the Cobblestone Community Church in Oxford. Mary retired from the Avon Company in Springdale, Ohio and had also been employed in the home healthcare field for Respite. She loved to travel and had visited many destinations throughout the world. Mary excelled in crafts and was a thirty year member of the Southern Ohio Basket Guild. She had taught basketry at Miami University and at the Oxford Senior Center. Mary is survived by six children and their spouses: Teri Lotz of Independence, West Virginia; Bobbi Gayhart and Gary of West College Corner, Indiana; Kathy Coy and Bob of Bath, Indiana; Debbie Merrill and Don of West College Corner, Indiana; Skip Boomershine and Cheryl of Anchorage, Alaska; Timothy Boomershine of West College Corner, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren; a brother: Ray Buell of Florida; a sister-in-law: Shirley Durbin of Beaver Creek, Ohio; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by a granddaughter: Tracy Lotz; an infant sister; and two brothers: Bob and Bill Durbin. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2012 at Trinity Church, Indiana Street and State Line Road, College Corner, Ohio, with Rev. Britt Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in College Corner Cemetery, West College Corner, Indiana. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. Friday until the time of service.
