Mary K. Hammil, 78, of Connersville, died Monday July 18, 2011 at Reid Hospital.
Mary was born in Brookville on February 6, 1933 to August and Grace Louderback Hofer. She attended Laurel High School and was a housekeeper in the Connersville area as well as First Presbyterian Church. On June 18, 1991, in Campbell County, Texas, Mary was married to Charles “Bud” Hammil. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Mary is survived by her son: Keith Allen Hofer and his wife, Eunice, of Connersville; sister and brother-in-law: Dorothy Gatts and Charlie Hammer, of Richmond; one grandson: two great-grandsons.
Preceding Mary in death are: her parents; husband; five sisters: Iona Goble, Erma Neukam, Geneva Hentig; Juanita Spreen; Betty Louise Hofer; four brothers: Donald Hofer, Earl Hofer, Clifford Hofer, Lloyd Hofer.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Dale Cemetery, Connersville, with Associate Pastor, Mr. Kim McHale, of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Friends may visit at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service, where memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
