Mary Ann Hampton

Mary Ann Hampton, 65, Liberty, died Sunday, May 12, 2013 at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. She was born on May 8, 1948 near Connersville to William Samuel and Edith Crowder Dickson and graduated from Connersville High School. On February 22, 1969, she married Kenneth L. Hampton. Mary Ann was a homemaker and always enjoyed being a mother and a grandmother. She was an avid bowler for 20 years and also for a short time was a weight lifter. For a time, she held a weight lifting record in Ohio for her age and weight. Mary Ann enjoyed doing crafts and making plastic canvas items. She is survived by her Husband, Kenneth L Hampton; daughter: Lisa and her husband, Tom Ramey of New Paris, OH; two grandchildren; a brother; Samuel and his wife, Karen Dickson; several nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death. Funeral services will be conducted 1 pm Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery in Connersville. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
