Melanie Wells

Melanie A. Wells, 56, of Connersville, died Friday, July 10, 2020, at Reid Health of Richmond. Melanie was born in Richmond, Indiana, on August 6, 1963, to Sharon Ann Crowe Callahan. She was a graduate from Connersville Senior High School and later attended IU East receiving her associates’ degree as a registered nurse. Melanie enjoyed traveling to various locations. Her passion was spending time on the lake and boating, her boating friends were her second family. Melanie is survived by her mother: Sharon Ann Callahan; her sisters: Sandra Pflum and her husband, Jay of Connersville; Patricia and her husband, John Parsons of Frankfort Indiana; her brother: Michael Callahan of Connersville; her children and their spouses: Melissa “Missy” Griffin and Kirk, Melinda “Mindy” Crank and Scott, Ryan Wells and Brittany, all of Connersville; her grandchildren: Brayland Colassaco, Madalynn Wells, Kylie Welke, Lane Reece, Samuel and Sarah Griffin, Maxwell and Molly Crank; her uncle: Larry “Val” Crowe; and several nieces and nephews. Melanie is preceded in death by her husband: Ronald J. “Ronnie” Wells who died on July 18, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 16, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Gwen Pew of Grand Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in section A of Dale Cemetery.
