Melissa Rena Koohns Flannery-Thomas

Melissa Rena Flannery-Thomas, 44, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Monday, March 25, 2019, at her residence. Melissa was born in Connersville, August 2, 1974, to Reynol, Sr. and Brenda Moore Koohns. She attended school in Carroll County, Kentucky and had been employed at the Asiana Restaurant in Cincinnati, Ohio. Melissa enjoyed the company of children and cherished time spent with her grandson. She read the Bible daily while devoting her leisure time to drawing and spending time outdoors, often around the campfire. Melissa is survived by her husband: Demarco L. Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio; her daughters: Jessica Edwards of Louisville, Kentucky and Destiny Ogden of Columbus, Indiana; her grandson: Rylan Baker with two additional grandchildren to be born soon; her brothers and their wives: Rennie Koohns, Jr. and Traci of Miami, Florida; Robert G. Koohns and Heather of Connersville; longtime family friend: Heidi Croslyn of Palmetto, Florida; nine nieces and nephews. Melissa is preceded in death by her father and her mother, Brenda Conover. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 12, 2019, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Inurnment will follow in Orange Cemetery south of Glenwood. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10 a.m. Friday until the time of service.
