Meriam E (Goodwin Johnson) Bourne
Meriam Goodwin Johnson Bourne passed away on April 30, 2017, with family by her side, at Hospice of Dayton.
Meriam was born to George and Mae (Thrush) Goodwin in Camden, Ohio on June 8, 1926. She graduated from College Corner High School in 1945 and was a cheerleader. Meriam enjoyed family, gardening, cooking and sewing. She was involved in the Indiana, Ohio, and North American Bluebird Societies. Meriam and Lum maintained Bluebird trails of over 300 nest boxes for many years.
She is survived by her husband Howard (Lum) Bourne; son Palmer J (Joy) Johnson; daughters Paula (Joe) Pizzino and Jennifer (Don) Geise. stepson Keith Bourne; stepdaughters; Krista (Tom) Carr, Leah (John) Krickenbarger; brother; Dean Goodwin; grandchildren; Angela (Gregg) Finnegan, Paul J Sherer, Josh (Jennifer) Kuhns, Johathan (Heather) Kuhns, Jake (Katie) Kuhns, Joe Kuhns, Jared (Ali) Johnson, Troy (Elizabeth) Johnson and Lauren Johnson; stepgrandchildren; Shawna (Chris) Nuse, Shane (Anny) Krickenbarger, Wesley Bourne, Jessika (Jason) Wicker, Zakaria Gabbard, and Leah Gabbard, 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Meriam was preceded in death by her parents as well as former spouse Palmer Johnson, siblings; Myron, Warren, Keith, Gerald, Sonny and Betty.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 6, 12:00 – 1:00 with a memorial service at 1:00 PM located at The Vandalia United Methodist Church, 200 S Dixie Drive, Vandalia, OH 45377. Family and friends are invited to stay for a time of fellowship following the service. An addition visitation will be held Sunday, May 7 at Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church in Liberty IN from 1:00 – 2:00 followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Old Franklin Cemetery in Brookville Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the North American Bluebird Society, PO Box 7844, Bloomington, IN 47407 or Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home in Liberty is assisting the family with the local arrangements.
