Michael Duane Mccarty Jr.

Michael Duane McCarty, Jr., 41, of Connersville, died Friday, October 20, 2017, at his residence. A Connersville native, Michael was born August 11, 1976 to Michael D. and Vicki Ledford McCarty and was a 1994 graduate of Connersville High School. He had been employed for several different contractors locally and had worked independently as a concrete contractor. He had also worked as a landscaper. Michael was a devout Christian who loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a fan of the Grateful Dead. Michael is survived by his mother: Vicki Ledford McCarty of Connersville; his father and step-mother: Michael McCarty and Toni of East China, Michigan; his paternal grandfather: James McCarty of Ocala, Florida; step-brothers: Steven and Keith Brown of Michigan; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins. Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother: Patricia McCarty; his maternal grandmother: Leola Rensink; his maternal grandfather: Jesse Ledford and his maternal step-grandfather: “Pops” Rensink and his beloved dogs, Moses, Marley and Kamari. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Michael’s cousin, Pastor Jeff Herron, officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Edinburgh, at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017.
