Myrna K. Soper, 79, of Liberty died Thursday, July 28, 2016, at Reid Health in Richmond.
Myrna was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on February 28, 1937, to Frank and Irena Cloud Brenton. At the age of three her family moved to Indianapolis where she attended school and graduated from high school. Myrna married Ronald Eugene Soper on June 1, 1961 and they moved to Liberty in 1968. Myrna worked as secretary at the Church of Christ in Liberty for twenty-nine years. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the Homemakers Club.
Myrna is survived by two children and their spouses: Deborah Tate and Grady of Liberty, and David Soper and Sarah of Liberty; two step-brothers: John Bennett of Greenwood, and Jerry Bennett of Washington State; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, who died on May 29, 1997, Myrna was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother, Gertrude Brenton; a brother, Karl Brenton; and a step-brother, Mike Bennett.
Funeral services will conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016, at the Church of Christ in Liberty with her son, David Soper, officiating. Interment will follow in West Point Cemetery. Friends may visit at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel in Liberty from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2016, where memorial contributions may be made to the Liberty Church of Christ or Susan G.
