Myrtie Jane Bothast

Myrtie Jane Bothast, 67, of Liberty, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at Reid Hospital in Richmond. Jane was born in Richmond on Sunday, February 23, 1947, to Robert and Lavon Russell Eckler. She graduated from Short High School in Liberty in the class of 1965. On June 12, 1965, Jane married Boyd Dean Bothast at the Liberty Church of Christ. Jane was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and cooking. In addition to her husband of forty-nine years, Jane is survived by a daughter: Dawn Hyde and husband Craig of Oxford; a son: Russell Bothast and wife Carmen of Liberty; a brother: John Eckler and wife Barb of Lakewood, Colorado; four grandchildren: Tyler Bothast, Cody Bothast, Holly LeMaster, and Miranda Hyde; one great-grandson, Owen LeMaster; an adopted granddaughter, Ashley Curry; and several nieces and nephews. Jane was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jimmy Eckler. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15th, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, in Liberty, with Rev. Harold Thompson officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery in Connersville. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 14th, where memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s choice.
