Nancy E. Livingston, 86, of Connersville, died Monday evening, August 20, 2012, at Heritage House of Connersville. She had been in ill health for several months.
Nancy was a native of Gulfport, Mississippi, born January 26, 1926, to Arnold H. and Martha E. Stephens Riser. On August 8, 1946, she was married in Laurel, Mississippi to L.H. “Mississippi” Livingston. They had resided in the Connersville area since 1967. Nancy retired in 1991 from Ford Electronics after twenty years of employment there. She had also been employed at Pinehurst Nursing Home, Centerville and National Nursing Home in Connersville. Nancy was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was active in the Prime Timers Senior Group. She also taught Sunday school for 28 years in the kindergarten department and served on Bereavement Dinner Committee. Nancy enjoyed sewing, reading, quilting, gardening and canning.
Nancy is survived by four children and their spouses: Frances E. Zimmerman and Robert L. of Connersville; Thomas A. Livingston and Judy J. of Laurel, MS; Ellen Wright and Willard of Springfield, MO; Bernice Phelps and Dennis of Connersville; Grandchildren: Tom, Tony, Todd, Tamara, Tara, Joshua, Daniel and Brian; Great-grandchildren: Katie, Jonathan, Luke, Joshua, Blake, Rade, Dalton, Will, Midge, Joy, Kaitlyn, Bayleigh and Caden; Brothers; Bernard A. Riser and Franklin Riser and his wife, Sylvia, all of Laurel MS.; Sister: Juanita Koors and her husband, Clem of Connersville.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years who died May 25, 2001; three brothers: Arnold, Claude and Morrow Lee Riser; two sisters: Martha Shows and Nora Arevigian.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor John Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Dale Cemetery. Friends and family may visit Thursday at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 1 p.m. at the church on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.
