Nora Mae Halstead

Nora Mae Halstead, 84 of Winter Haven, Florida and formerly of Connersville, died at St. Joseph Hospital, Tampa, Florida on Monday, May 19, 2014. She was born on July 25, 1929 in Shelbyville to Arthur and Charolette Griffey Donica. Nora was married to Kenneth Halstead, whom died in 1969. She was an avid employee and was appreciated for her work ethic. Nora loved spending time with her family and friends. In her leisure time, she enjoyed relaxing on the beach, playing cards and reading. Nora will be greatly missed. Nora is survived by her children: John Halstead and his wife, Sandy of Ashville, North Carolina; Larry Halstead and his companion, Melba of Louisville, Kentucky; Bonnie Halstead Griffin and her husband, Gary of Lakeland, Florida; Cheryl “Sheri” Kosmicki and her husband, Steve of Lakeland, Florida; twelve grandchildren; thirty nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Nora is preceded in death by her brother: Bill Donica. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice. Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville is assisting the family with arrangements.
