Ollie May "Doodle" Hunter, 89 of Connersville, died Friday night, August 21, 2015 at Lincoln Center-East.
Ollie was born February 23, 1926 in Franklin County to George and Ethel Abrams Roberts and attended Franklin County schools. On July 18, 1942 in Liberty, Ollie married William H. Hunter, who died July 2, 2001. She was a homemaker who enjoyed fishing, sewing, berry picking and tending to her vegetable garden. Ollie also enjoyed baking and was known for being a great cook. She was a member of Connersville Baptist Temple.
Ollie is survived by her children: Dennis Ray Hunter; Peggy D. Ledford and her husband, Wendell, all of Everton; her siblings: Paul Roberts and his wife, Martha; Dixie Miller; Ann Precht; Marie Wilson, all of Franklin County; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband of fifty eight years, Ollie is preceded in death by her daughter: Linda S. Green; her sisters: Dorothy Harsh and Mildred Potter; her brothers: Fletcher, Alvin, David and Donald Roberts.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Pastor Tim Billups of Connersville Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will follow in Everton Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Connersville Baptist Temple.
