Patrick J. Norris

Patrick J. Norris, 76, of West College Corner, died Thursday evening, July 17, 2014 at his residence. A Kansas City native, Patrick was born January 25, 1938, to Norman Andrew and Cleo Katherine Heim Norris. In 1956, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served as an Airman Second Class until his discharge in 1960. Patrick graduated from Park University in Parkville, Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. He was employed as a social worker at Jim Taliaferro Community Mental Health Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. Patrick was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Patrick is survived by his wife of twenty three years, Carol Sue Norris ;his children: Patrick Daniel Norris and his wife, Cecilia of Mexico City, Mexico; Michael Joseph Norris of Kansas City, Missouri; Wayne Browning Jr. and his wife, Mickey of Loveland, Ohio; Eric Browning and his wife, Aubrie of Liberty; Ronda Kathleen Law; Collene Terese Sulzer and her husband, Steve, all of Kansas City, Missouri; Karina Veirs and her husband, Jason of Altus, Oklahoma; Crystal Ricketts and her husband, David of College Corner, Ohio; his grandchildren: Randi and Joel Law; David, Maria, Elizabeth and Megan Norris; John, Anne Marie, Joseph and Julia Sulzer; Kilian and Aiden Veirs; Jazmyn, Christian and Cullen Browning; Autum and Michael Ricketts and his beloved dog, Scrappy. In addition to his parents, Patrick is preceded in death by his infant son: Terry Norris and his grandson: Keelan Browning. The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Oxford, Ohio with Father Jeff Silver officiating. Interment will follow in College Corner Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by American Legion Post #122 and VFW Post #1472 both of Liberty. Friends may visit at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Ohio from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday where memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
