Paul Edwin Morris, 96 of Connersville died Saturday evening, September 3, 2016 at Premier Healthcare of Connersville.
Paul was born November 11, 1919 near Connersville, one of six children to Kenneth and Ruby Oldham Morris. He graduated from Charlottesville High School in 1939. On September 4, 1942 Paul was married to Lois Jean “Jeanie” Morris, who survives. They would have celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary this year. Paul was founder and owner of Morris Excavating Co. for many years until retiring in 1980. Previously, Paul was a group leader at American Kitchens and also farmed. After retiring, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and sightseeing including several foreign countries. Paul was a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church where he served as deacon and treasurer for several years.
In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his siblings: Edna Campbell of Connersville and Dale Morris of Gosport; several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his three brothers: Norman, Lloyd and Dickie; his step-mother: Lorena Flanigan Morris.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Elder Glen Funk officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. where memorial contributions may be made to the New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church.
