Paul Pavlicko, 50, of Liberty, died at Reid Hospital in Richmond on Monday, June 24, 2013.
Paul was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on July 12, 1962, to Emil and Nancy Roddy Pavlicko. He graduated in 1980 from Struthers High School, Struthers, Ohio, and obtained a Bachelor Degree in Information Technology from Phoenix University.
Paul left in August of 1980 for boot camp to serve his country as a United States Marine. During his military service he received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with Star; Good Conduct Medal with 3 stars; Navy “E” Medal; Meritorious Unit Commendation with Star; National Defense Service Medal; Rifle Sharpshooter Badge; and Pistol Marksmanship Badge.
Paul was employed for thirteen years as an Information Tech for the Center of Disease Control at the Cincinnati, Ohio base.
Paul is survived by his wife: Deborah Moore Pavlicko of Liberty; two daughters: Stephanie and Symantha both of Liberty; his mother: Nancy Roddy Pavlicko; a brother: John Pavlicko and his spouse Jane, both of Struthers, OH; two sisters: Pam Raybuck and her spouse, Scott, of Boardman, OH; and Joyce Bovo of Struthers, OH; two grandchildren; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law: Glen and Dinah Moore both of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his father, Emil Pavlicko.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 28th, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, with Rev. Dana Hadden of Hanna’s Creek Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow in Elkhorn Cemetery, Wayne County with military honors provided by American Legion Post # 122 and VFW Post# 1472, both of Liberty. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday where memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
