R. Von Carr

R. Von Carr, 77, formerly of Connersville, died Thursday, November 24, 2011, at Johnson Memorial Hospital, Franklin. He had resided at the Indiana Masonic Home since January 2010. Von was born in Union County, March 15, 1934 to Roscoe V., Sr. and Florence Showalter Carr. He was a 1952 graduate of Connersville High School and was married at Central Christian Church to the former Lila A. Berninger on August 30, 1953. Von was employed as a supervisor at Mac Machine from 1952 to his retirement in 1999. He was a member of the Warren Lodge # 15, F. & A.M. and had farmed as a hobby. Von is survived by his wife of 58 years; his son: David V. Carr of Connersville; his granddaughter: Makenzie R. Carr of Connersville; two sisters and their husbands: Jane Gillette and Frank of Palm Beach Shores, Florida, Carolyn Powell and Lee of Milton; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Von was preceded in death by a daughter, Reneé who died in 1986. Private funeral services will be conducted at the convenience of the family. There will be no public services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Masonic Home, 690 State Street, Franklin, Indiana, 46131.
