Ralph J. Kombol, 83, of Connersville, died Saturday morning, April 5, 2014, at his residence.
Ralph was born in Williamstown, Pennsylvania on October 7, 1930 to George and Martina Martin Kombol. He attended Temple University and Drexel University, both of Philadelphia, PA. From 1948 to 1954 Ralph served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. From 1957-1997, Ralph was employed at Visteon (and it's predecessors) as a Design & Manufacturing Engineer until his retirement in 1997. From 1972 until 1980 he owned and operated the "RJK Submarine Sandwich Shoppe” on Grand Avenue. He also worked on-call for Sears as an appliance repairman.
Ralph was an avid reader especially on the topics of nutrition & politics and greatly enjoyed engaging in spirited political debates. He was a skilled carpenter, investing his skills into designing and building unique features for his homes throughout his lifetime.
Ralph is survived by his children: Ralph J. Kombol, Jr & his wife Michele of Monroe, Michigan, Karen Malainy & her husband Mark of Canton, Michigan, Lisa Tonkin & her husband John of Centerville, Ohio, Ellen Moran & her husband Tim of Rushville, Amy Dunning of Bremerton, Washington; his siblings: Mark Kombol, Delma Quick, both of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, Donna Esterline of Wiconsico, Pennsylvania, Mary Schaffer of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and Jeanne Schultz of Limerick Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; 21 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother and father, Ralph was preceded in death by his brother: Harold Shephard.
