Reva B. Nutty, 91, former longtime resident of the Alquina community, died Satuday evening, March 30, 2013, at Friends Fellowship, Richmond.
Reva was born in Union County April 13, 1921, to Samuel Joseph and Harriett Jane Haag Fields. She was a 1938 graduate of Short High School in Liberty. On December 31, 1941, Reva was married in Rushville to James A. Nutty who died May 18, 1998. She was an active member of the Alquina United Methodist Church where she had served as the music leader and as a Sunday school teacher. Reva loved children and had been employed in the cafeteria at Alquina Elementary School. She also had tutored children and had worked at Little People’s Day Care. Reva enjoyed visiting shut ins and nursing home residents.
Reva is survived by three children and their spouses: Dennis J. Nutty and Carolyn of Liberty; Pamela J. Pepperman and Woods, III of San Antonio, Florida; Melanie J. Feller and Dennis of Milton; six grandchildren and their spouses: Jon Nutty of Fishers; Michele Hindley and Scott of Noblesville; Emily Pepperman-Atkinson and Quinn of Crystal River, Florida; Staff Sergeant Woods Pepperman IV and Amy of Quantico, Virginia; J. Andrew Feller and Ambere of Milton; two great-grandchildren: Alex J. and Noah S. Hindley; two sisters-in-law: Marjorie Harvey and Maxine Wysong, both of Connersville; two brothers-in-law: Gordon Nutty of Indianapolis and Carl Nutty of Connersville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Reva was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years; a brother: Lowell Fields and three sisters: Ina Richardson, Doris Bias and Ada Davis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Alquina United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Dunlapsville Cemetery in Union County. Friends may visit at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Alquina United Methodist Church or to the Dunlapsville Cemetery Association.
