Richard “Dick” Muggleworth, 78, formerly of Connersville, died Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Brickyard Health Care in Muncie, Indiana.
Dick was born to Richard H. and Cecilia Crouthamel Muggleworth on September 1, 1943 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. He attended school in Jacksonville, Florida where he enlisted in the United States Marines. Dick proudly served four years in the Vietnam War earning several awards including: Vietnam service Medal, National Defense Metal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, M-14 Rifle Expert Badge, Good Conduct Medal. After returning home from the war, Dick was employed with Ford Philco. He married Linda Wolter on July 18, 2019 in their home in Muncie, Indiana. Dick was an outdoorsman, avid hunter, and gun collector. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling across the country for hunting trips and cruises. Dick’s favorite pass-time was sitting on the deck with the sun on his face and his wife by his side.
In addition to his wife, Dick is survived by his cousin: Lisa; extended family: Penny Bost, Steve Auker, Kimberly Stonecipher; tweleve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Kate Reilly Clark Holmes; sisters: Mary and Ruth; feline companion of seventeen-years: Callie.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00p.m., Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. Friends may visit at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s in Dick’s honor. Showalter Blackwell Long has been entrusted with arrangements.
