Robert L. “Bob” Anderson, 74, of Connersville, died Monday, July 2, 2018, at Arbor Trace Rehabilitation in Richmond.
Bob was born in Indianapolis, April 22, 1944, to Clifford, Sr. and Mary Ruth Linn Anderson. In 1962, he graduated from Connersville High School. Bob served in the United States Army with the 21st Infantry stationed in Germany. He was a generous person and enjoyed helping others which lead to his success at Whitewater Ford Lincoln Mercury as a new car salesman for over thirty years. Bob was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1160 where he had served as the Governor. He enjoyed his dogs, cutting grass and going to Robinson’s Campground.
Bob is survived by his daughter: Stacey Anderson of Jacksonville, Florida; his step-children: Shelly Clegg of Spartanburg, North Carolina; Randy Perkins of Richmond; Brett Perkins of Franklin, Kentucky; his grandson: Travis Anderson; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister: Velma Hauger; and three brothers: Cliff, John H. and Earl Anderson; and his wife, the former Beverly J. Hughes, whom he married February 3, 1991. Mrs. Anderson died April 22, 2018.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery with military honors provided by the Fayette County Veterans Council. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of service.
