Ronald Lee Howe, 61, of Cedar Grove and former Connersville resident, died Sunday evening, May 7, 2017, at St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis following a lengthy illness.
Ron was born in Connersville, August 8, 1955, to Charles Franklin “Wally” and Tillie Ann Dunn Howe. He attended Orange Elementary School and was a 1973 graduate of Connersville High School. On March 24, 1984, he married the former Justine Andrews at the First Baptist Church in Connersville. Ron was employed for fourteen years at Design and Manufacturing. He retired due to illness as the key account distribution manager at Reading Rock Corporation where he had been employed for 28 years. Ron most enjoyed spending time with his family and granddaughters. He had a unique ability to engage people and consequently had many ‘best friends.’ Ron enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting and gardening. He was an avid cook and used the ingredients he grew to make salsa to give away. Ron attended the Cobblestone Community Church in Oxford, Ohio.
Ron is survived by his wife of 33 years; his children: Ryan L. Howe of Connersville; Brittany Howe Montgomery and her husband, Christopher of Fishers; Andrew J. Howe and his girlfriend, Rosalie Harvey of Cedar Grove; his granddaughters: Auriana and Amaya Montgomery; his siblings: Donna J. Howe Cleaver of Mission Viejo, California; David D. Howe and his wife, Cristal of the Orange community; Theresa L. Howe of Mission Viejo, California; and his many friends. His parents preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, following cremation. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 to 3 p.m. Friday where memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation or to the American Lung Association.
