Ruby M. Snyder, 83, of West Chester, Ohio, and former Liberty resident, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at West Chester Hospital, West Chester, Ohio.
Ruby was born February 25, 1929 in West College Corner to Robert F. and Nova G. Jenkins Brewer and moved with her family to Liberty. She was a 1947 graduate of Short High School and graduated from Warner’s Beauty School, Fort Wayne in 1948. For many years, she owned and operated Ruby’s Beauty Shop from her home in Liberty. She was an active member of Edwards Memorial Untied Methodist Church where she had been a member of the choir since 1945. Ruby kept busy canning and freezing produce from her husband’s large garden while maintaining an immaculate home. She enjoyed interior decorating and refinishing furniture. Most of all, she loved her family and grandchildren and the time they spent together.
Ruby is survived by her two daughters and their spouses: Sheila J. Thompson and Mike of Grass Valley, California; Rhonda Horn and Doug of Franklin, OH; grandchildren: Kara Horn Hammes and her husband, Clint of Pendleton; Josh Horn of Blanchester, OH; her siblings and their spouses: Robert Brewer and Geneva of Connersville; Betty Crocker and Jim of Vista, California; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel S. Snyder whom she married on July 13, 1951 at her brother’s house in Connersville; Mr. Snyder died February 11, 2007.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church in Liberty, with Rev. Scott Bell officiating. Private interment services will be conducted at West Point Cemetery. There will be no public visitation.
