Ruth Bowling, 76, of College Corner, Ohio, died at her residence Tuesday evening, September 15, 2015.
Ruth was born December 6, 1938 in Paragould, Arkansas to Norman E. and Odra George Sawyers. She attended Union High School in College Corner and on November 10, 1958 she was married in Covington, Kentucky to Laster Bowling. Ruth enjoyed mushroom hunting, quilting, yard sales and collecting antiques. She most cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Oxford Church of God and attended Trinity Holiness Church in College Corner.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Laster; two daughters and their spouses: Renee Hagen and William of Oxford, Ohio; Virginia “Ginger” Brown and Michael of College Corner; her siblings: Charlie Sawyers and his wife, Kay; Carolyn Smith, all of Liberty; Sharon Millice and Chuck of Brookville; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her grandsons: Ezekiel and Isaiah Brown; her brother: James E. Sawyers and her sister: Imogene Morris.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, September 21, 2015, at Showalter Blackwell Tilton Funeral Home, College Corner, Ohio with Pastor Britt Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in College Corner Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service. The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Holiness Church in lieu of flowers.
