Ruth Edith (Summers) Campbell, 104, died on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Berkeley Square Colonial Services in Hamilton, Ohio.
Ruth was born in Butler County, Ohio, on September 11, 1912, to Everett E. and Edith Harrison Summers. She was a 1930 graduate of Union School in College Corner. On July 28, 1030, she married James E. Campbell and enjoyed seventy years of marriage before he died on December 9, 2000. Ruth was a homemaker, a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Eaton, the Women’s Missionary Society, Farm Bureau Council # 4, Tera Garden Club, and Israel Township Homemaker’s Club. She traveled the forty-eight states, Canada, England and Europe. Ruth loved bowling, quilting, cooking, gatherings at Christmas and Thanksgiving, reunions and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Ruth is survived by four children and their spouses: Barbara J. Reynolds of Odenton, MD, Marjorie A. Brubaker and Roger of Melbourne, FL, Donald J. Campbell and Myrna Kay of Jefferson City, TN, and Darrell E. Campbell and Marilyn of Middlebury, IN; eleven grandchildren; eight-teen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers: Earnest and Harry Summers; and three sisters: Maud McKay, Gladys Woods, and Martha Brown.
A private graveside service will be conducted in College Corner Cemetery at the convenience of the family with Rev. John S. Skelly of the First Presbyterian Church of Eaton officiating.
