Ruthfena Baker

Ruthfena “Nan Nan” Baker, 92, of Liberty, died at her residence Friday, August 24, 2018. Ruthfena was born on August 18, 1926, in Manchester, Kentucky, to Chester and Vergie Davison Bowling She was the oldest of several children and left school in the sixth grade to help raise and take care of her siblings. Ruthfena married JT Baker in 1944. She enjoyed working in her yard and taking care of her flowers. She also enjoyed watching after her family. Ruthfena was a member of the Bible Believers Baptist Church in Liberty. Ruthfena is survived by her children: Chester Baker of Cambridge City; Trudy Murray John, husband of Liberty; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ruthfena is preceded in death by her husband: JT Baker, who died in 1988, two sons JT Baker, JR. and Ronald Baker. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Fosdick Chapel, Liberty, with Eric Bogdanski of Liberty officiating. Interment will follow in West Point Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, memorial contributions may be made to the Bible Believers Baptist Church.
