Sally B. Adams, 78 of Connersville, died at her residence, Sunday morning, May 25, 2014. She went home to be with the Lord and loved ones gone before her.
Sally was born on July 1, 1935 in Laurel to James Harvey and Fannie Allen Richmond and attended school in Andersonville. On September 24, 1955, Sally was married to James T. Adams. She worked for more than twenty years in Elephant Hill Mobile Home Park as resident assistant. Sally spent most of her life being a wonderful mother and a great wife to her husband of nearly sixty years. She was also a member of Greater Vision Church.
Sally is survived by her husband, James T. Adams; children: Dennis Adams of North Vernon; Derrick Adams of Salinas, California; Timothy Adams and wife, Ruthie; Carolyn Cox and husband, Golden; Shelia Adams; Connie Earlywine and husband, Butch; Michael Adams and wife, LaSonya; Rick Adams; Walter Adams and wife, Paula; sister: Elizabeth Corbin, all of Connersville; several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many people who love her.
In addition to her parents, Sally is preceded in death by four brothers: Albert, Kenneth, James, and Dewey Richmond; a sister: Lillian Pursiful; three children: Alice Mae, Eileen, and Rosalee Adams; grandsons: Charles Ledington and Jimmy Lone; great-grandson: Michael Alexander Adams; mother-in-law: Rosa Adams; father-in-law: Walter Adams; daughter-in-law: Penny Ritter Adams.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Showalter-Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with her son, Reverend Michael Adams of Greater Vision Church officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel North Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home, Thursday from 12 until the time of service where memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s choice.
