Sandra K. Sturgeon, 70, died Monday, January 28, 2019, surrounded by her family at her daughter’s home. Sandra was born February 9, 1948, to Willard and Mabel Cynthia Baker Charles in Henry County. In 1966 Sandra graduated from Connersville High School. She worked several years for the Head Start program at Maplewood Elementary School and a clerk at JCPenney. Sandra enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and vacationing at the ocean in Florida. She spent her leisure time dining at Beef and Boards dinner theatre, reading, working in her garden and doing puzzles. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Friends of the Fayette County Public Library. Sandra is survived by her children and their spouses: Angela “Nicky” Tipton and Troy, Julie Givens, of Connersville; and Ralph Eddie Sturgeon, Jr. and Ashley of Plainfield, her grandchildren: Ashley Tipton of Connersville, Adam Tipton and his wife, Larae of Kittanning, PA; Sylvia Boling and husband, Matt of Indianapolis; Starr Maze of Connersville, Luke Sturgeon and his wife, Jess of Indianapolis; Jakob Sturgeon of Bloomington; her great- grandchildren: Ryder Trent, Norah Tipton, Elijah Boling, Elaina Boling, Rhylie Boling and Zoe Sturgeon. Sandra is preceded into death by her parents. A family gathering will be conducted at their convenience. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 431 Western Avenue W, Connersville, Indiana 47331.
