Sara Beth McDill Duvall, 29, of Lebanon and formerly of Liberty, sadly lost her battle to kidney cancer on Sunday, September 30, 2012, following her diagnosis nearly one year ago. She fought hard during her battle with family and friends close by her side.
Sara was born in Oxford, Ohio, March 24, 1983, to David and Betty Martin McDill. In 2001, she graduated from Union County High School and was a 2005 graduate of Purdue University where she received her degree in horticulture and landscape design. She had been employed in the landscaping business in Zionsville and for the past four years had worked as the office manager at Pettijohn Gravel Conveyors in Zionsville. Sara enjoyed fishing and loved to watch Colts football and attend the games. Since the age of nine, she enjoyed cross-stitching. Sara also took pleasure in working puzzles and attending yard sales.
Sara is survived by her husband: David Duvall; her son: Joshua David Duvall; her parents of Liberty; two sisters and their husbands: Patty McDill Craig and Troy of Bedford, Kentucky; Lisa McDill Rudnick and Jason of Liberty; two nephews: David and Samuel Rudnick; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Sara was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Howard and Mary Martin; and her paternal grandparents: Ellis and Genevieve McDill.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Baker Chapel, College Corner, Ohio, with Rev. Ron Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in College Corner Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday where memorial contributions may be made to her son, Joshua’s college fund or to the West College Corner Volunteer Fire Department.
