Sharon V. Jackson, 84, of Connersville, died Sunday morning, January 24, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
Sharon was born in Dublin, Indiana, December 31, 1931, the only child of Willard F. and Viola E. Brown Seal. In 1951, she graduated from Connersville High School and worked at the Indiana Statehouse as a key punch operator for two years. Sharon was a member of the Connersville Baptist Temple and a former member of the Greenfield Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid reader and animal lover. Sharon was a fantastic cook and was a great euchre player.
Sharon is survived by her children: Franklin “Frank” Jackson of Connersville; Paula G. Jackson Turney and her husband, Daniel of Galveston, Indiana; her grandchildren: Megan Jackson of Connersville, Scott Turney and his wife, Tuesday of Galveston, Indiana; Rebekah Jackson of Valrico, Florida; her great-granddaughter: Emily Sweet; her cousins and their spouses: Michael King and his wife, Leota; David King and his wife, Della, all of Connersville, and their children.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her great-grandson: Tucker Jackson, who died June 5, 2014.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Pastor Jeff Garrison of the Connersville Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12 noon Friday until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to the Fayette County Animal Shelter or to Ronald McDonald House in Cincinnati.
