Sharon Metsch, 59, of Liberty, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at her home.
Sharon was born September 14, 1952, in Brookville and was the daughter of Boss and Lizan Steward. In 1970, she graduated from Brookville High School and continued her education at business college in Indianapolis. Sharon had been employed with Mansur Development in Indianapolis and the Indianapolis Economic Development. Locally, she had been employed as the secretary at Union County High school and later,in the superintendent’s office of the Union County/College Corner School Corporation. She had also worked in the human resources department of NSK in Liberty. Sharon had a strong faith in Christ as an active member of the Hanna’s Creek Christian Church and was dedicated to her family and friends. She was an avid walker and enjoyed outdoor activities. She especially valued her time at the cabin in Wisconsin and in Florida at Daytona Beach.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Rudy J. Metsch whom she married August 20, 1994 in Guilford; two sons and daughters-in-law: Matthew Lawrence and Carly, Christopher Lawrence and Ashley, all of Indianapolis; her grandchildren: Andrew, Joseph and another expected soon; Jacob, Grace and Paige; brothers and sisters, including her twin sister: Karon Hamilton and her husband, Elmer of Brookville; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her step-son: Eric Metsch.
A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hanna’s Creek Christian Church with Rev. Dana Hadden officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Brookville. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. Saturday until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to My Father’s Food Pantry of Hanna’s Creek Christian Church.
