Shawn R. Burch

Shawn R. Burch, 29, of Connersville, died Friday, October 3, 2014, at his residence. Shawn was born in Oxford, Ohio, February 6, 1985 to Joe C. and Nancy A. Walker Burch. He attended Connersville High School. He played AAU basketball and Babe Ruth Little League baseball. He later earned his general education diploma. Shawn was a member of Christ Jesus Community Church in Connersville. He had been employed at Gecom Corporation in Greensburg. Shawn loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed fishing, spending time at the family lake cottage and NCAA basketball, especially Indiana University. Shawn is survived by his wife, the former Angela Kidd; three children: Jadyn C. Burch, Jordyn L. Burch, Ashlynn Kidd, all of Connersville; his mother: Nancy A. Burch of Connersville; his sister: Kristen Jo Kehl and her husband, Adam of Connersville; his niece: Alyshah Kehl; his nephew: Kobe Kehl; two aunts: Janet Noel of Muncie; Lettie Burch of Florence, Kentucky; several cousins. Shawn is preceded in death by his Father, his paternal grandparents: Opal and Mildred Burch; his maternal grandparents: Robert and Rose Walker; two uncles: Ronald Burch and Steve Noel. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel, Connersville, with Rev. Fuzzy Lake of Connersville officiating. Interment will follow in Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. Friday until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to Hope Center Drug Counseling, Celebrate Recovery at Calvary Baptist Church or to the Fayette County Drug Coalition.
